Compassion
Ephesians 4:32 Be kind and compassionate to one another, forgiving each other, just as in Christ God forgave you.
What does it mean to find the “new you”? We tell ourselves many ways to accomplish this – new job, new car, lose weight or even a radical new haircut (which I do often).
Jesus taught us to put off the old self and to put on the new self, created to be like God in true righteousness and holiness. (Ephesians 4:24)
How will I know if I am living the new life?
Doing an inventory of your attitude is one way. Are you kind, compassionate and forgiving (v 32) or are you still hanging on to justifying bitterness, rage, anger and slander (v31).
Make a choice today to look around you through Christ’s eyes. You will see who needs kindness, compassion, and forgiveness. Do not fall back to your old self.
“Follow God’s examples therefore, as dearly loved children, and walk in the way of love, just as Christ loved us and gave himself up for us as a fragrant offering and sacrifice to God.” Ephesians 5:1-2
Thank you, Jesus, for giving me new life in you. May I follow you today and be filled with your love. Demonstrating your kindness, compassion, and forgiveness.
